In the Beginning...
Random pieces I wrote when I first began my poetry journey for Christ...

The Savior
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever and ever, Amen."

The Calling
I heard this voice. Who was it?
It was dark, but this voice said not to fear.
I walked through the black night, I saw nothing.
I pressed on and the voice became louder.
"Come to me...", it said.
I felt a little scared, but I kept going.
I was close to this voice now, I could feel it. I had my doubts, who could this possibly be?
I turned the corner, and I felt a chill.
I felt a presence. "Who are you?", I asked.
There was no voice...only darkness.
I asked again, "Who are you?"
Still, there was silence.
I asked this time in a kind voice, "Please...I am not scared. I just want to know who this is. Who are you? Why are you here?"
The voice answered back, "I am the way, the truth, and the life..."

Eyes of the Faithful
I see the Lord! He is sitting on His holy throne!
Angels surround Him! There is no death, not even a bone!
I see the devil! He is bound in an everlasting chain!
I see his demons, they wail in pain!
I see Heaven's glory! All is at peace!
All who live there have homes, none for lease!
I see Jesus dying on the cross! He shows us His love!
I see Jesus rising to the sky! All shall lift His name on high!
I see the tree of life! It is full of happiness! All who eat of it show all kindess!
I open my eyes, my tears seem to make my heart tear!
I see all of this...through a prayer.
Amen.
Why?
Why am I here?
Why is it so hard to spread Your word?
Why don't people listen to me when I try?
Why do I cry in fear and pain to You?
Why can't I see You with my human eyes?
Why don't You just come back to earth right now?
Why is it so hard to stay out of temptation?
Why do people laugh at me when I mention You?
Why do I know You are real, but my friends and family do not?
Why am I saved?...am I special?
Why can't I understand You?
Why, Lord?
"I never said it would be easy...I only said it would be worth it..."

Seeking
I read Your Bible. I found nothing.
I went to your churches, I found nothing.
I asked your followers, I found nothing.
I prayed your prayers, I found nothing.
I tried to be good, I found nothing.
I tried to spread Your word, yet still, I found nothing!
You told me that if I would seek, I could find! Why have I found nothing?!
"Who do you think you're speaking with right now?..."

Eternal Love
I walked through a valley of death, yet You still stayed by my side.
I cursed Your name, yet You still gave me blessings.
I mocked Your believers, yet You still tried to draw me near to You.
I looked down at Your churches, yet You smiled and hugged my soul.
I saw images and paintings of You and rolled my eyes with meanness in my heart, yet You always gave me more chances.
I borke Your Commandments, yet You still stood up for my spirit when Satan laughed at me...
Why have you done this for ME?!
"That is how much I love you..."
